Stanley R. Searfoss of Manahawkin, Stafford Twp., passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at his home in Colony Lakes.
He was born in Easton, Pa, Feb. 20, 1933 and raised in Philipsburg were he attended Phillipsburg High School , Class ‘51, and had a scholarship to Greenbrier Military Academy, W. VA. He enlisted in the Marine Corps and then attended East Stroudsburg University. Stan was an Eagle Scout and in the summers was a scout counselor at Camp Weygadt, Wind Gap, PA. He became an Educator at Delaware Valley Regional High School, while he resided in Holland Twp, NJ. He was a History Scholar, Wrestling and Football coach, Athletic Director and furthered his education with a Masters degree. In his spare time he did carpentry and masonry and refurbished antiques. He loved historic sights, touring the world, and cruising. After his son, Todd passed away in 1981 , Stan moved to Quakertown, PA where he enjoyed the many pleasures; of restoring the old farm house and the 1812 barn, his German Shepard, and a small menagerie of animals. He was a lifeguard and loved his summer homes in Mt. Lake, Belvidere, NJ, Ocean Beach, NJ and moved to Colony Lakes in 1999.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Fay (Kreis), his daughter Sally Jo and husband, Keith Evans of Long Beach Island, NJ
