Obituary of Peggy Ann Ellis

Peggy Ann Ellis, 83, of Toms River, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on March 6, 2016. She is predeceased by her parents Mildred and Oakley Witt; sister Susan Witt Ferenz; son Michael “Mickey” Ellis; and her husband Wallace Ellis She is survived by her son Wallace “Buddy” Ellis of Toms River; Her daughters Peggy Ann Erickson & husband Joe of Toms River, Bridget Ellis of Toms River and Shelley Olson & husband Doug of Toms River. She is also survived by her grandchildren Katherine Jill Smilek and Whitney Castles. Her great-grandchildren Grace and Ben Daniel Castles. Peggy will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends She was born in Island Heights, NJ, and was a life-long resident of Toms River, NJ. She was a homemaker and was involved in many organizations and volunteer activities throughout her life. Peggy was a proud member of the Garden Club, Antique Seekers Club, Basket Group, House of Fabrics Group, Crochet Club, 12th Night Group and the Tuesday Lunch Group. She also unselfishly volunteered her time and energy with the Ocean County Historical Society and Community Medical Center. Peggy was a free spirit who loved life and enjoyed gardening, travel, antiques and animals. A gathering will be held 4-7 PM Friday, March 11th at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River, NJ. Service will be at 6:30 PM. Cremation was private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Animal Birth Control, Inc. PO Box 353, Pine Beach, NJ 08741. Serving Ocean County.
