Lawrence “Larry” W. Pater, Sr. of Waretown, NJ; passed away at the age of 75 on July 8, 2023. Larry was born on February 25, 1948 in Toms River, NJ.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Carol Pater, his son Lawrence “Larry” W. Pater, Jr., Waretown, NJ, his daughter Tricia A. McLaughlin (Brian), Forked River, NJ, and his granddaughter Madison Rose McLaughlin, Forked River, NJ. Larry is also survived by many loving brother and sister in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Larry was a skilled carpenter for over 50 years. Many of those years were spent doing carpentry/construction on Long Beach Island, NJ. Larry was a long time member of “People Like Us (A.A.)” Larry had a love and passion for music and creating speaker cabinets. Back in the day, Larry was known as “Larophonics” and DJ’d many school and community dances, events, and parties. He loved playing music and seeing everyone get up and dance, having a great time. Larry was also artistic and would draw very inspirational pictures for family and friends. Some of those pictures were chosen to be displayed in the Ocean County Library. Larry was a collector of Fedora hats and always wore one to match his outfit for the day. Larry had a great sense of humor and strived to make people laugh. His was known for his most famous line “On To You”. A celebration of life will announced at a later date.
