Obituary of Gertrude V. Russo

Gertrude V. Russo, 79, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, entered into her heavenly home on Tuesday March 28, 2017, at Southern Ocean County Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Gertrude and Lou (stepfather) Behrens. She was born on July 7, 1937 in the Bronx, NY. She married Chris Russo Jr. on January 4, 1990. She belonged to the MICA Club as well as the American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends, playing shuffleboard and going to Atlantic City. She is survived by her loving husband Chris Russo Jr; her daughter Lisa Ryan and her husband Ed of Middletown, NY; her two grandchildren Andrew and Nicholas Ryan; her brother Anthony Wallent and his wife Petra of Germany and several nieces. She was predeceased by her son Christopher A. Miller and her siblings Matthew Wallent and Betty Kranik. The family would like to thank Robyn and Tom Slinchak as well as James Adams for all their loving and caring support to Mom. Also, the family would like to thank Denise and Carol for stepping up and helping Mom when needed. A graveside committal service will be offered, 10:30 am Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at the Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
