My husband Tony and I are going to miss seeing Donna at the library. We looked for her to say "hello" every time we visited. She encouraged us to exhibit our artwork and was so encouraging when we did. She had such a wonderful sense of humor. I exhibited a photo that I had taken of a bison in Wyoming, and she said that she was sure he must jump down every evening and roam around the library because every morning she came in and had to straighten him! Every day when I look at that photo, I can picture Donna trying to fix it.

I am one of Donna's peeps at the library. We talked of many things but what I most remember was her saying, Nancy, when I retire I will be joining the Monday group of knitters, who I call the yarn ladies.
I am proud to call her friend. I will miss her.

Donna was one of nicest people Ive ever had the pleasure of knowing. My art was displayed several times at the Little Egg Harbor library and Donna was always so supportive and helpful in the setting up process. We shared the same birthday and I always looked forward to exchanging cards. This lovely lady will be sorely missed.

I adored Donna. She was always so generous of her time and support. I exhibited my art at the library on numerous occasions and Donna always went out of her way to make artists feel special. We shared knee replacement therapy together a few years back and often talked books and shared recommendations. I always looked for her when I popped in because I enjoyed every single conversation we had.
She is already so missed. How could she not be? Donna brought sunshine everywhere she went. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.

I was very fortunate to have known Donna through the LEH Library. She was a beacon of light in our busy world. Donna's smile was infectious and welcoming. Speaking with her, on a variety of topics, was a highlight of my day. She loved life and her family. Donna, you will be missed.
Heartfelt condolences to your family.
May your memory be a blessing forever.

There are no words to describe the impact Donna has had on my life. She was always looking out for me and constantly asking if I am taking care of myself. Everyday she would ask me "What are you going to do for yourself today?" and she would not let me leave until I said one thing. She would know when I was having a bad day without even saying anything and reassure me that I am doing an amazing job. On the really bad days I would magically find in my work mailbox a box of Raisinets (my favorite candy, which I only mentioned once in passing). We would joke and say it was the candy fairy, but it was our sweet Donna trying to brighten up my day. Even though I was her supervisor, she was the one taking care of me. I remember the first big Artist Reception we had at the branch, and I was so nervous to greet all those people. At first I stood in a corner eating a bag of sour cream and onion chips (which Donna and I joked about constantly), but then Donna noticed me in the corner, took my hand and introduced me to everyone and made my anxiety go away completely.
I am a better person for knowing Donna, and I will try to emulate her kindness, compassion, and love in my everyday life. I will continue to try and do something for myself everyday, because I know Donna would be upset if I didn't.
To her family - I am so very sorry for your loss, Donna was a light in this world and she will never be forgotten.

This is my third attempt at writing something to describe the warmth and kindness of Donna. I don’t think any words I come up with will do her justice.
To me, Donna will always be an example of what it means to be a light in the world. If you needed someone to listen she was there and if you were in need of a prayer she would graciously say one for you or with you.
She will be deeply missed.
Sending love and prayers to her family, friends, and colleagues

Donna was one of those people whose smile and kind nature lit up a room when she walked into it. I am incredibly grateful to have worked alongside her in the Volunteer and Homebound Services Dept. for a few years. Even though we each eventually took different positions in OCL, we always remained in touch. Donna would send beautiful hand-written letters of encouragement, and congratulations – whatever the situation was, Donna could find the right words. When my mom passed away almost 5 years ago, receiving a beautiful letter from Donna gave me such comfort. You just knew she really cared about you; she was as genuine as they come. She loved her family with everything she had in her, and she was such a joy to be around. My deepest, most sincere condolences for her family, friends, and anyone who was lucky enough to know her. She will be deeply missed.

Donna was simply the best! I'll always remember that smile on her face when I saw her. I used to work with her for many years in the Toms River branch of the library.. At that time, she worked in the Homebound/Volunteer department. Dedicated, compassionate and always going the extra mile for someone - that was Donna. She left a mark wherever she went, and with whomever she came in contact with. We're all better for having know her. Keep things hoping in heaven Donna, we'll all meet again :) Brenda Bilar

Mrs, Donna is our heart here at the library. She always greeted us with compassion and positivity. Donna made you feel seen. She made you feel loved. She made you feel cared for. She was the most selfless person I have yet to know and even when she was uncomfortable, or tired, or in pain, she was always concerned about others.
Last year Donna and I worked at a fall festival together. It was windy and cold and we had on our heavy coats. And Donna remained upbeat and excited for fall and Halloween costumes and my festive clothing (if you know, you know). She was proud to tell everyone about the library. I finally decided it was too cold and we should leave. Donna got in the car with me and she rode along bravely as I ended up taking us off road, across fields, and ultimately back the way we came to try to avoid all the parked cars and attendees. We joked about how we might end up lost in the woods and need someone to rescue us. Donna was willing to ride into an adventure with me and laugh about it, both during and after.
This year Donna checked in on me when I had surgery and prayed for me when she thought I needed it. Donna remembered my anniversary and she sent cards for every single occasion (and her handwriting was impeccable). She was the biggest fan of my mom's paintings and supported every artistic and craft journey we went on. She encouraged me to show my artwork in a display at the library which got me to go back to pottery. It's because of her that I recognized what I could do.
I am so devastated by the loss of Donna. And I hold all her family in my heart. My life is better for having known Donna. Thank you for sharing her with us. I love you all so much and am so heartbroken by this momentous loss.
-Kristen

Donna was one of the sweetest, kindest most sincere person I’ve had the pleasure to work Of times with occasionally. When I needed someone to fill in at Tuckerton library she was always ready and willing to fill in. She showed up with a smile ready to work and would always tell me to call upon her whenever I needed someone. What a joy she was to be around. She will be missed by many who came in contact with her every day at the library I’m sure. My sincere sympathy to her family

I would see Donna almost daily for years, and to say she was a Mom is nothing more nor less than the truth. She comforted, inspired, and believed in me, even when I did not and could not believe in myself. Her memory will be treasured, her loss grieved, and her love continue into eternity and beyond. I know you're smiling Donna, and I'm smiling back. :-)

I always looked forward to seeing Donna on the desk at the library. She had a great sense of humor and we always wound up laughing about something. She had so many talents to admire and gave her all to whatever she was doing. I will miss her so much, as will the patrons and staff. My sincere condolences to her family and friends; it will take a lot to fill her shoes.
