Obituary of Katheryn R. Myers

~Katheryn R. Myers (Atkinson)  passed peacefully on May 28th after a long battle with Alzheimers Disease.  Kay was born to Margaret (mathis) and Carl Atkinson on January 24, 1932 in Tuckerton NJ.  She a lifelong "Local" raised in Parkertown with deep, proud Piney roots.   Kay graduated Tuckerton High School in 1950 and later that year Married Ray Myers.  Together they raised 4 children in Tuckerton and Parkertown.  She is survived by her 4 Children.  Carol Myers Dencer,  George (Donna) Myers, Kirk (Audrey) Myers and Melva (Joseph) Schrantz. 
14 Grandchildren   George R. (Claudia) Dencer IV, Ryan E. (Alaina) Dencer, Raymond W. Myers, Laura Myers, Sarah Myers, Russell (Rachel) Myers, William Myers, Jason (Donna) Myers, Kristie (Milton) Johnson, Kyle Myers, Nicholas Myers, Joseph R Schrantz Jr., Brandon Schrantz, Storm (D'Lorean) Sullivan,   and 15 great grandchildren George R Dencer V, Shianne Bischoffberger, Alyssa Evans, Devin Myers, Gillian Myers, Aiden Myers, Brinlee Myers, Maximus Myers, Gianna John son, Gabriela Johnson, Trey Sullivan, Mya Sullivan, Sydnee Rain Allen, D'Lorean P. Sullivan Jr. (DJ), Keziah Sullivan.  and 3 siblings   Jean Gray, Patty Richmond, John Atkinson.  Also many nieces and nephews.
Kay was an industrious person and a hard worker all of her life, from working in the blueberry fields as a child and her grandmothers soda shop to waitressing and cleaning homes on LBI. In the early '70s she obtained her Real Estate License and soon after her Brokers License, working in the field for over 35 years.  She had her own office for a time and worked in Tuckerton, New Gretna, and LBI.
Ultimately though Her Faith shaped her life. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1960 and was an active part of the Tuckerton/Manahawkin Congregation until moving and being part of the Absecon then Egg Harbor City Congregations. She served Jehovah faithfully and took seriously the commission Jesus set forth for his followers.  Matthew 28:19,20.  She was  even arrested on LBI for following that admonition.  As She declined in health she took comfort in and had complete confidence in the promises at John 5:28,29 and Isaiah 25:8.  She is now secure in Jehovah's memory awaiting the resurrection.  She will be missed.  A Memorial Service will be held  on August 5, 2017, 5:30 PM, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4761 US 30, Egg Harbor City, NJ 08215.  with a time and location to follow shortly.  in lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Inc. at JW.org
