Obituary of James Edward McKee

James “Seamus” Edward McKee, 81, of Toms River, NJ, passed away on Thursday December 31st at Tallwoods Care Center, Bayville, NJ. Mr. McKee was born in Atlantic City, NJ to the late Frederick Sovereign McKee Sr and the late Bernadette Burns McKee on November 4th, 1934. He attended Trenton Catholic High School and graduated in 1953. He went on to earn a degree in Economics from St Joseph University. Mr. McKee then attended graduate school at Notre Dame University until his enlisted in the Navy in 1958 and achieved the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He taught at Admiral Farragut Academy and worked as a Civil Engineer for FEMA for many years. Mr. McKee was a beloved husband and father. Husband of the late Mary Ann Murphy McKee and brother of the late Frederick S. McKee II and the late William McKee. He is survived by his daughter Mary Kathleen (Kathi) McKee Kroeck, son William Michael McKee and his wife Sue, daughter Sheila McKee Healy and her husband Brian, sister Patricia McKee Finegan and five grandchildren, Meghan and Shannon Healy and Shane, Kyle and Brady McKee. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, January 4th at 9:30 am at St Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Rd., Bayville, NJ. Friends may call on Monday beginning 9am at the church. Cremation and burial will be privately held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bordentown, NJ.
